As a registered childminder I am required to effectively monitor the service that I offer. I will use the NCMA Quality Standards Workbook and the Parent Questionnaire which is attached. I will also ask the children whom I care for what they enjoy doing when under my care and if there is anything else they would like to do. Observing the children playing, doing activities, eating and in general will also allow me to monitor the service.
As a Network Childminder who works with the local authority, questionnaires will be sent out to them asking for feedback on the service that I have provided.
I am monitored once within my first year of registering as a childminder and then biannually by the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales and I will take onboard their advice and recommendations.
I understand the importance of the various training and quality monitoring offered by the NCMA to help develop my practice and I will take full advantage of all training which is available to me.
